In December, the City of Roanoke honored Carilion Clinic's Dr. Cheryl Hartman as Citizen of the Year, for tremendous lifelong efforts to better the community. In her career, Hartman has focused on preventing teen dropout, pregnancy and obesity. As a community volunteer and non-profit leader, she was instrumental in bringing an inclusive new playground to Kiwanas Centennial Park.
